Painting Happiness

Personal major community service project where I led after-school art classes using creative projects to enhance children’s emotional intelligence, communication, and motor skills. Activities included painting, drawing, and sculpting, each designed to support mindfulness and emotional expression.

As a personal major community service project, I led weekly after-school art classes that encouraged mindful practices to help young children to not only further develop their emotional intelligence, but also allow them to explore and develop their creativity, improve their communication skills, and fine motor skills, as well as enhance their attention. The classes focused on mini projects, games, and activities in which children were exposed to various art forms and practices such as simple arts and crafts, painting, drawing, and even sculpting. Each project targeted a different social-emotional area, helping with anxiety, understanding personal emotions and properly projecting them, and more.

Due to this project, I was nominated by my high school, Doral Academy Performing Arts as their "Vocational Technical" Silver Knight.
